BEARD TRANSPLANT

A man's beard constitue a large part of the face and is therefore an important part of the appearance. A full beard gives a man a lot of expression and for many represents it represents masculinity.

Thanks to state-of-the-art technologies, we can fill in bald spots or even fulfill the desire for a full beard with a beard transplant.

Who is FUE Hair Transplant Suitable For and How is it Performed?

Just as the desire for the look of a beard varies, so does the growth of the beard and its texture and shape from man to man.

For some men a fuller beard is desired than the genetics allow, or sometimes the beard hairs have fallen out and leaks thus affect self-confidence and well-being.

Beard transplantation differs from hair transplantation in that the obtained hair root groups are being separated before transplantation. The reason for this is that beard hair, unlike scalp hair, consists of individual hair follicles.

In a beard hair transplant, up to 3,500 grafts can be transplanted in one day.

This is also satisfactory since the beard is not never extremely dense. As with scalp hair transplantation, most of the transplanted hair falls out in the first 6 weeks. After 3-12 months, these grow back and after about a year you can expect the final result.

FAQ

What kind of risks can occur?

As with all surgical procedures, beard transplant also involves certain risks that cannot be excluded. A distinction must be made here between the general risks of surgical procedure, such as intolerance to medication, including local anesthesia, and the specific risks of a beard transplant. In addition to the general risks of an operation, the following specific risks of a hair transplant are to be assessed as increased:
  • Swelling, bleeding, wound healing disorders, infections, numbness
  • The assessment and explanation of the risks must always be carried out individually and depending on the patient and his anamnesis in a detailed discussion with the operating doctor.

When can I do sports again?

Sporting activities should be avoided for two weeks. A longer abstinence contributes to an easier healing process, which also affects the end result.

When can I go back to work?

Due to the frequently occurring swellings, a rest period of at least one week should be planned. Some patients prefer to return to work after the blood crusts have been removed after about 10-14 days.

What do I have to consider after the operation?

In a beard transplant, the healing process and compliance with the guidelines are decisive for the final result. In the first 48 hours, the transplanted hair roots lie loosely in the canals and need to stabilize there. At this point they can still fall out, which is why headgear has to be avoided and special care must be taken when changing clothes and sleeping in that the head remains as free as possible. On the second day, the beard area will be gently washed and controlled in the clinic. In the following days, the anesthetic and the carrier
liquid injected into the scalp usually cause swelling, which recede on its own after a few days. In the next few days, small crusts of blood will form on your puncture channels, which will detach again after about two weeks. In the first few weeks, feelings of tension, itching and reddening of the scalp are to be expected, which will completely subside after a month at the latest.
The transplanted hair, but not the hair roots, mostly fall out in the first six weeks. After three to twelve months, these grow again and after about a year you can expect the final result.

How long does the operation and the stay take?

The duration of the procedure varies greatly, as it depends on the size and quantity of the transplanted grafts. A session can last from two to six hours. An overnight stay in the hospital is not necessary.
