FUE HAIR TRANSPLANT

Like our hair texture, the tendency to fall out is genetically determined.

However, the male hormone androgen often plays an important role here, which is why men are affected much more frequently than women.

Due to the fact that primarily the hair on the forehead and middle of the head falls out, while the hair on the back of the head and on the temples remains, it is possible to regain a beautiful fullnes of hair.

For this purpose, the follicular units or so-called grafts of healthy hair or hair root groups are being extracted with a medical hollow needle from the back of the head, which represents the donor area, and transplanted into the area affected by the loss.

It should be noted that hair loss can still have various reasons, which means that the anamnesis and the determination of the type of hair loss must be figured out by an experienced doctor in order to realistically assess the various method options and medical feasibility.

Hair loss can affect self-esteem and well-being.

Thanks to state-of-the-art technologies, full hair can be created again through a hair transplant.

Who is FUE Hair Transplant Suitable For and How is it Performed?

FUE stands for "Follicular Unit Extraction" (also known as the picking or plucking technique) and describes the technique of hair transplantation of individual follicular units, i.e. groups of hair roots, which are also called grafts for short. This method is a minimally invasive hair transplant that has proven to be very gentle and effective. Here, follicular units consisting of the hair roots are extracted from the skin and then transplanted into areas affected by hair loss.

In addition to the classic FUE hair transplant, in which the donor area is shaved, we also offer the option of hair transplant without shaving.

Due to the fact that primarily the hair on the forehead and middle of the head falls out, while the hair on the back of the head and on the temples remains, it is possible to regain a beautiful fullness of hair.

For this purpose, the individual follicular units or grafts called healthy hair or hair root groups are removed with a medical hollow needle from the back of the head, which represents the donor area, and transplanted into the area affected by the loss.

FUE hair transplantation consists of two main steps, harvesting and transplantation of the obtained grafts. In the first step, the donor area is prepared and anesthetized using local anesthesia. The grafts are then removed manually or with a special micromotor. After the grafts are prepared in a nutrient solution, they can then be transplanted in the next step, after local anesthesia of the recipient area via the recipient channels.

FAQ

What kind of risks can occur?

As with all surgical procedures, FUE hair transplantation also involves certain risks that cannot be ruled out. A distinction must be made here between the general risks of a surgical procedure, such as intolerance to medication, including local anesthesia, and the specific risks of a hair transplant.
In addition to the general risks of an operation, the following specific risks of a hair transplant are to be assessed as increased:

  • Swelling, bleeding, wound healing disorders, infections, numbness
  • The assessment and explanation of the risks must always be carried out individually and depending on the patient and his medical history in a detailed discussion with the operating doctor.

When can I do sports again?

Sporting activities should be avoided for two weeks. A longer abstinence contributes to an easier healing process, which also affects the end result.

When can I go back to work?

Due to the frequently occurring swellings, a rest period of at least one week should be planned. Some patients prefer to return to work after the blood crusts have been removed after about 10-14 days.

What do I have to consider after the operation?

In a hair transplant, the healing process and compliance with the guidelines are decisive for the final result. In the first 48 hours, the transplanted hair roots lie loosely in the canals and need to stabilize there. At this point they can still fall out, which is why headgear has to be avoided and special care must be taken when changing clothes and sleeping in that the head remains as free as possible. On the second day, the head will be washed and controlled in the clinic. In the following days, the anesthetic and the carrier liquid injected into the scalp usually cause swelling in the forehead area, which recede on its own after a few days. In the next few days, small crusts of blood will form on your puncture channels, which will detach again after about two weeks. In the first few weeks, feelings of tension, itching and reddening of the scalp are to be expected, which will completely subside after a month at the latest.

The transplanted hair, but not the hair roots, mostly fall out in the first six weeks. After three to twelve months, these grow again and after about a year you can expect the final result.

How long does the operation and the stay take?

The duration of the procedure varies greatly, as it depends on the size and quantity of the transplanted grafts. A session can last from two to eight hours. An overnight stay in the hospital is not necessary for hair transplantation.
