Eyebrows add expression and character to any face. Nowadays there even are Brow bars, in which women but also men get their eyebrows shaped by plucking. One thing is clear, eyebrows have a significant influence on the radiance and the entire eye area. It is therefore not surprising that every cosmetics department has a variety of make up products for the eyebrows or that also there is a wide variety of permanent make-up procedures, as well as serums for growth of eyebrows.
Eyebrow transplantation represents a long-term alternative to the a number of procedures to optimize the eyebrows or the day-to-day shaping and filling through the makeup.

Thin and sparse eyebrows can be the result of the aging process, illnesses, hormonal fluctuations or injuries to the hair roots, e.g. due to plucking. Bald spots and scars can thus be corrected. The eyebrow transplant differs in one point in the procedure from that of a classic hair transplant. Namely, in eyebrow transplantation, it is of great relevance that the hair root is transplanted taking into account the correct direction, since the eyebrow hairs, unlike the hair on the head, are not long and fall down anyway, but are short and must grow in the right direction, like your own eyebrow hairs do it. Therefore this procedure has to be performed by an experienced doctor who has also specialized in eyebrow transplant.

As with all surgical procedures, eyebrow transplantation also involves certain risks that cannot be ruled out. A distinction must be made here between the general risks of a surgical procedure, such as intolerance to medication, including local anesthesia, and the specific risks of this operation. In addition to the general risks of an operation, the following specific risks are to be assessed as increased in an eyebrow transplant:
Sporting activities should be avoided for two weeks. A longer abstinence contributes to an easier healing process, which also affects the end result.
Due to the frequently occurring swellings, a rest period of one week should be planned. Some patients prefer to return to work after the blood crusts have been removed after about 10-14 days.
In the case of an eyebrow transplant, the healing process and compliance with the specifications are decisive for the final result. In the first 48 hours, the transplanted hair roots lie loosely in the canals and need to stabilize there. At this point, they can still fall out, which is why special care must be taken when changing clothes and sleeping that the face remains as free as possible. On the second day, the treated area will be washed and checked in the clinic. Swelling may occur in the following days, which will recede on its own after a few days. In the next few days, small crusts of blood form on the puncture channels, which detach again after about two weeks. In the first few weeks, feelings of tension, itching and redness are to be expected, which will completely subside after a month at the latest. The transplanted hair, but not the hair roots, mostly fall out in the first six weeks. After three to twelve months, these grow again and after about a year you can expect the final result.
The operation takes about two to four hours. An overnight stay in the hospital is not necessary
