What kind of risks can occur?
As with all surgical procedures, a eyelid lift involves certain risks that cannot be ruled out. A distinction must be made here between the general risks of general anesthesia, intolerance to medication, including local anesthesia, and the specific risks of a eyelid lift.
In addition to the general risks of an operation, the following specific risks are to be assessed as increased in an eyelid lift operation:
- Swelling, bruises, wound healing disorders and infections.

When can I do sports again?
Patients can start to workout and follow sporting activities after 4 weeks.

What do I have to consider after the treatment?
Immediately after the procedure, swelling and hematoma can occur to varying degrees. These should completely recede within two weeks. Cooling of the operated area after the operation can reduce the swelling to a minimum. The final result can be assessed after about four weeks. Sufficient sun protection should be used to avoid pigment disorders in the newly formed eyelid fold.
